Desperate to save her marriage and seemingly running out of options, a Nigerian woman who was almost nine months pregnant reportedly followed her husband to apologise to his alleged side chic — a story that has since stirred strong reactions online.

The account was shared on Facebook by Martin Beck Nworah, who expressed disbelief at the lengths some women may go to in an effort to preserve their homes and marriages.

According to Nworah’s account, the woman had lovingly prepared a birthday cake, food and drinks for her husband and even invited neighbours to celebrate with them. But as the hours passed, her husband failed to return home. After waiting for several hours, the neighbours eventually returned to their apartments.

Her husband reportedly arrived at around 11:30 p.m. and went to take a shower. While he was in the bathroom, a woman alleged to be his side chic repeatedly called his phone.

The wife, who reportedly knew the woman, answered the call and confronted her, questioning why she was calling after allegedly spending much of the day with her husband. A heated argument followed.

According to Nworah’s account, when the husband learned about the confrontation, he became angry and left the house for the night.

A Difficult Demand

The following day, he returned home, and his wife prepared a meal for him. But what reportedly happened next has become one of the most talked-about parts of the story.

The husband allegedly refused to eat unless his heavily pregnant wife accompanied him to the alleged side chic’s workplace and apologised to her.

Pregnant, emotionally exhausted and desperate to avoid further conflict, the woman reportedly agreed. She was concerned about the effect continued stress could have on her pregnancy and still hoped that complying with her husband’s demand might help restore peace and save her marriage.

She followed him to the woman’s workplace — and apologised.

The Marriage Eventually Ended

But despite everything she reportedly endured in an effort to hold the marriage together, the relationship eventually ended.

The woman reportedly chose to move forward with her life and concentrate on raising her children. In an unexpected twist, the same husband is now said to be seeking a return to the marriage.
